Long overdue well-earned shoutout to our incredible SportLoMo team who played a vital role in supporting Rugby Europe’s prestigious 7s competitions this summer.
In June 2025, Rugby Europe invited SportLoMo to provide on-site operational and technical support for its premier Men’s 7s Championship Series and Conference 1 events across Europe. From Makarska, Croatia to Hamburg, Germany and Ordino, Andorra, our staff were proud to be embedded in the heart of these high-intensity tournaments—helping support the smooth operation of Rugby Europe’s prestigious tournaments.

We’re delighted to finally take a moment to celebrate the contribution of three standout team members who represented SportLoMo at these events:
Joe McDonnell – Ordino, Andorra
Joe brought his calm professionalism and deep platform expertise to the Conference 1 tournaments, supporting both Men’s and Women’s competitions in Ordino. This was the first time Rugby Europe hosted a sevens event in Andorra, and Joe played a key role in helping the organisers roll out our platform in a brand-new environment. From real-time updates to ensuring accurate team and match data, Joe helped keep things on track across long—but rewarding days.
Eoin Carney – Makarska, Croatia
SportLoMo’s Project Manager for Rugby Europe, Eoin supported the Men’s 7s Championship in the scenic coastal town of Makarska, Croatia. Known for his calm approach and strong problem-solving, Eoin played a key role in managing live fixtures, statistics and communications throughout the fast paced event.
This wasn’t Eoin’s first-time supporting Rugby Europe—he also assisted at the European Games in Krakow, giving him valuable insight into the format and rhythm of elite-level 7s tournaments. That prior experience proved especially helpful in guiding and supporting Williams Ganley, who was taking on his first major Rugby Europe event in a SportLoMo role.

Williams Ganley – Hamburg, Germany
A committed club rugby player with Ballyhaunis RFC in County Mayo, Williams Ganley was delighted to be on-site for the final leg of the Men’s 7s Championship Series in Hamburg, Germany. With packed stands, elite-level teams and an electric tournament atmosphere. Williams supported the event by managing real-time match data, ensuring smooth delivery of digital services throughout the competition.
This was Williams’ first time working at a Rugby Europe event and he approached it with enthusiasm and professionalism—benefiting from the guidance of Eoin Carney and Joe McDonnell, who have both supported previous tournaments.
Although more familiar with 15-a-side rugby, Williams was struck by the intensity and sheer speed of the 7s format, making the opportunity to contribute behind the scenes and experience top-level action up close a real highlight.

Rugby Europe & SportLoMo – A Great Team Effort
These events are about more than just tech support—they really show what SportLoMo can do when it comes to running live tournaments. And with our crew handling the digital side of things, the Rugby Europe team could stay focused on the rugby.
We also have to say—Rugby Europe looked after our guys incredibly well. They covered all travel and accommodation and made sure Joe, Eoin and Williams felt part of the team from the moment they arrived. The lads all said how much they appreciated the welcome and how enjoyable the whole experience was.
This blog post might be a bit late, but it’s important to us to mark these events—and to thank our guys not just for the long days on-site, but also for the effort they put into preparing ahead of time.
