A big Thanks to Rob and Madison
SportLoMo’s John, Maireád & Alex worked closely with Rob and Madison in BC Rugby on this project. Our Design & Development Team were also hugely involved from start to finish. SNAPSHOT OF BC RUGBY IN NUMBERS
This is a snapshot of BC Rugby numbers displayed on their new website which was developed by SportLoMo.
British Columbia Rugby Union is one of the largest provincial rugby unions in Canada. A Not-For-Profit organisation and one of 60 Provincial Sport Organisations (PSOs) to receive funding from the Provincial Government. BC Rugby was founded in 1889 in New Westminister.
British Columbia has a rich Rugby history and is widely acknowledged for its diverse Rugby community. Rugby activities include mini-rugby, 7s, 15s, Tournaments, Touch Leagues, Masters, Provincial Championships and BC Bears.
The Province has proudly seen many of its male and female players represent Canada at International and Olympic level over the years, culminating in a bronze medal for the women’s Rugby Sevens team at the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Brazil.
BC Rugby members register via Canada Rugby Registration Portal (powered also by SportLoMo). The registration portal is linked to the BC website.
Registration is a 3 step process. Individuals select their province.
They then select their club alphabetically from a list or click on the pin on google maps
They are then brought to their club and choose the program/membership/category they wish to register for.
BEWARE THE BEAR
BC Bears are all the Representative Teams for the British Columbia Rugby Union across Senior (Men’s and Women’s) and Age-Grade (Boys and Girls) levels. While the BC Bears name was officially launched in 2009, the Province has been represented by teams for over a century.
The BC Bears teams compete at championships and tournaments which are attended by Rugby Canada Coaches and Selectors. Many players who represented BC Rugby at Provincial level have been invited to participate in Rugby Canada National Teams.
BC Rugby is proud to be part of a long tradition of developing elite Rugby players and supplying our National Men’s and Women’s Team with world-class talent.
